  This place is awesome! We’ve been to the one in Northport but since we’ve moved we haven’t had a chance to go back. I am so happy they came further out east. They have the best French toast! My and my husband were very impressed! Staff was super friendly our food was delicious! Can’t wait to go back and try the country fried steak!!

  We have been to Sweet Mamas in Stony Brook several times since it opened. Speaking generally about our experiences, we have found the prices to be quite high compared to similar fare on Long Island. For example, this evening we had an appetizer and two salads, along with two sodas. Total came to about $57. I can think of many other establishments that we frequent where we have two mixed drinks, app, and two sandwiches or entrees for about the same amount of money. To add insult to injury, the kitchen has been prone to errors in preparation, delivering a dish without all its promised features/ingredients, and is usually slow to deliver. On the plus side, the waitstaff is generally ok, though prone to disappear from the dining area for length periods - enough so that by the time to flag them down for a refill, dinner is done. The menu itself offers a decent selection of dishes that should suit any customer, plenty of parking, easy access, and generally one doesn't seem to need reservations (this is not to suggest that the establishment is unpopular, quite the contrary). My overall impression of Sweet Mamas is that they could turn this restaurant into a winner with better overall adult supervision, training. We'll try SM once more, and if we don't see much in the way of improvement, just drop them from our "approved list" :)
